Martin Barrett

Martin Barret was elected Liberal Democrat Councillor for Wroughton and Wichelstowe in the Swindon Borough Council Elections on Thursday 7 May 2026.

Martin grew up and was educated in Swindon. He joined the navy and came to Wroughton in 1989 with his family; his wife Melanie and four children. 

Martin was a founder member of Wroughton junior football club and started Wroughton twinning with Saint-Germain in France. He is a member of the North Wiltshire Woodturners and tutor at the W.B. Men’s Shed.

As your local representative Martin is committed to supporting the delivery of the Wichelstowe Health Centre as quickly as possible to support the huge increase in demand in the area.

Martin was also elected onto Wroughton Parish Council in these elections
