Calling For Action on Southern Connector Road

Liz is demanding answers over the future of an incomplete bridge. The Southern Connector Road, a £40m scheme, intended to provide a link between the New Eastern Villages and the Commonhead roundabout. In the second half of 2023, the project was abandoned and the road has since remained closed. The bridge shows serious defects and is not safe for public use. More importantly, the residents of Swindon are now paying for site security to make sure the road is not used! Liz is now calling for transparency and accountability over whether the bridge can be repaired or must be rebuilt, and who will ultimately pay for the scheme to be completed safely. Back Liz by signing our petition to hold this Labour Council to account.
